Calm Investments is an independent entrepreneurial investment firm that focuses on acquisitions and participations in small and midsized companies with a leading role in their market. We support entrepreneurs during a generation shift or with succession, helping them to make the next step in the company’s development. We invest with our own money in businesses that we believe in, allowing us to build long-term partnerships with the management of our companies.
At Calm Investments we have a team-based culture. We will collaborate based on transparency, integrity and mutual trust in our partnerships. We are committed to investing in leading, niche businesses with differentiated offerings.
We work together with the management of our companies as a committed partner. We will actively support our companies in areas such as strategy, data analytics, specific projects, operations and M&A. Our aim is to optimize our added values as a partner, either through a supporting role or through a leading role (when required).

Our Team
Olav van Caldenborgh
founder
Olav established Calm investments in 2021. Prior to Calm Investments Olav worked at Caldic, a distributor and manufacturer of specialty chemicals and food ingredients, the last 15 years as the CEO of the company. Olav has improved profitability and accelerated growth, both organically and through multiple acquisitions. With an entrepreneurial approach Olav has acquired, integrated and helped more than 20 companies to make the next step in their development always working closely together with the local management.
Jonathan van der Helm
founder
Jonathan co-founded Calm Investments in 2021. Before he worked as a strategy consultant at Roland Berger where he completed over 15 different projects. As a consultant, Jonathan focused on growth strategy, restructuring and post-merger integrations. Jonathan holds a MSc in Offshore Engineering and a BSc Mechanical Engineering at the Delft University of Technology.
